Delve won a competition, out of almost 100 entries, to design and install one of five public benches for the London Festival of Architecture.
Delve designed and built their ‘Whippet Good’ bench in the form of a sleeping dog, based on their office dog Rocket, to provide a calming place for people to rest and reflect in the City. The concept focussed on mental health and the support that dogs can provide. The central theme was that dogs live in the moment, with no worry for what happened yesterday or what might happen tomorrow.
Following the festival, Whippet Good now lives outside Almacantar’s Centre Point development in Tottenham Court Road, as a much-loved piece of interactive public art in the community.
If you’re feeling stressed always remember to whippet, whippet real good.
