Project Details
This project involves the conversion of a former restaurant unit, arranged over ground and mezzanine floors, into a purpose-designed nursery located near the American Embassy. The design has been developed with a strong emphasis on natural, sustainable materials and finishes, carefully balancing environmental responsibility with the durability required for heavily used nursery environments. The scheme reflects the client’s design ethos, creating warm, engaging spaces that feel both nurturing and robust.
A key feature of the project is the direct relationship between each classroom and the outdoors. All classrooms have dedicated access to garden space, encouraging outdoor learning and play as an integral part of the daily experience. To enhance this connection, small curved lobbies have been incorporated between classrooms and gardens, creating playful transition spaces that add character and excitement to children’s movement through the building.
