Portrait of Alex Raher

Phil graduated from Newcastle University in 2022 with First Class Honours in Architecture. His undergraduate work explored the relationship between artists and the city, focusing on live–work environments that support creative practice while contributing to the wider urban fabric. A prominent theme in his project was the idea of ruination, examining how fragments of the past and neglected structures can continue to shape contemporary cities. Through this work he developed a strong interest in working with existing buildings, adaptive reuse, and the spatial and cultural value embedded within older structures.

He is currently completing his Master’s degree at the Royal College of Art in London.

Outside of architecture, Phil enjoys playing tennis and going to exhibitions.
